In 2021 I published my autofictional novella Fluchttiere, exploring my inner landscapes and confronting childhood trauma in the process of healing.

In a remote monastery boarding school in the Bavarian mountains at the end of the 1970s, fourteen-year-old Tobias is sexually harassed by his prefect, the religious order priest Father Angelus. In response, Tobias drifts into daydreams influenced by psychedelic rock music. When Tobias falls in love with his classmate Florian, the story takes a brief turn. The abuse is counterbalanced by the romantic experience of first adolescent love, yet a love constantly threatened by discovery and punishment. In the spatial confinement and emotional coldness of the monastery, coming out is nearly impossible. As the love between the two boys begins to crack, Tobias retreats further into his inner world. The boundaries between daydreams and reality become fluid.
Told from the perspective of the 14-year-old boy, the novel explores the dynamics of sexual violence and the escape into often surreal daydreams as a means of coping and emotional survival. The narrative contrasts the romantic experience of first love between two boys with hesitant attempts at coming out. The novel also tells a queer love story.
